Pink lake - Saint-Louis - Parc du Djoudj - Delta du Saloum

DAY 1: DAKAR- LAC ROSE – SAINT LOUIS (Approximately 280km/05h)


Departure from Dakar in the morning to reach Lac Rose.


Tour of the lake, visit to a Fulani village, visit to the salt collectors.


An unmissable swim in the salt lake and an unforgettable feeling. Above all, don't forget to rinse at the fresh water source! Lunch at the Trarza hotel restaurant then drive to Saint Louis, the former capital of French West Africa. Installation, dinner and night at the La Poste hotel.

DAY 2: SAINT LOUIS – DJOUDJ ORNITHOLOGICAL PARK – SAINT LOUIS (Approximately 120km/02h)


In the morning, visit the Djoudj ornithological park. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the first water point after crossing the Sahara for migratory birds: cormorants, pelicans, whistling ducks, fishing eagles... but also crocodiles, monitor lizards, warthogs and jackals. are here. Around 350 species are referenced there. Canoe tour of the park through the backwaters. Lunch at the park restaurant and return to Saint Louis. In the afternoon, carriage tour of the old colonial town: the Faidherbe Bridge, the houses of notables with their old-fashioned charm, the Town Hall, the Cathedral, the Airmail Museum and the fishermen's quarter of Guet Ndar Multi-colored canoes. Dinner and night at the La Poste hotel.

DAY 3: SAINT LOUIS – TOUBA – SINE SALOUM (Approximately 420km/08h)


Departure from Saint Louis to the holy city of Touba, which is home to one of the largest Muslim brotherhoods in the country. Visit the great mosque of Touba and continue through Ferlo to Kaolack. Lunch at the Kaolack relay.
Road to the Sine Saloum delta and more precisely to Simal.


Horseback ride or on foot in the surroundings of Simal to discover Discover the culture of the Serer ethnic group or relax on the edge of one of the banks of the Sine Saloum delta to enjoy the magnificent sunset.


Dinner and night in the cabins of the Ecolodge du Simal.

DAY 4: SINE SALOUM – DAKAR (Approximately 140km/02h30)

The morning
Canoe trip in the bolongs to observe birds or introduction to traditional fishing: line or cast net fishing.
After lunch in Simal, drive to Joal, birthplace of the former President of the Republic of Senegal Léopold Sédar.Senghor. Visit the island of Fadiouth by canoe or on foot, its shell cemetery where Christian and Muslim burials mingle; the millet granaries perched on stilts are also among the curiosities of the island. Return to Dakar or Saly at the end of the afternoon.
